Mahler Mare Denies Favourite With Maiden Victory
Too The Future (5m Mahler - Hartwell Lake, Pistolet Bleu) denied the strongly-fancied Delightfantastic (Yeats) to win the Five-Year-Old Mares’ Maiden at Sunday’s inaugural Ballinagore meeting.
Trained by Michael Murphy and owned by Redbridge Stables, the bay was given a patient ride by Tiernan Roche. Producing a challenge in the straight, the honest mare reeled in the longtime leader and favourite, going on to win by two lengths. 12 lengths clear of the third, the ten runner field finished strung out behind them.
Bred by James Browne, Too The Future is closely related to the talented Lakemilan (Milan) and is a half-sister to dual winner Cut Em Down (Getaway).
