Mahler Mare Digs Deep To Land Portrush Maiden
The Stuart Crawford owned and trained Well Briefed (g Mahler - The Irish Whip) showed a determined attitude when winning her second start in Saturday’s Mares’ Maiden at Portrush.
Sixth on debut in February, the chesnut was reunited with Ben Crawford to race towards the back of the field and made good headway to chase the leaders from five out. Disputing at the fourth last, she was pushed out from the third last and kept on well under pressure to lead close home, winning by a length on the line, as the second finished ten lengths clear of the field.
Bred by Mr J Harding, Well Briefed is a full-sister to six-time winner Bugsie Malone (Mahler).
