Fairyhill Run (Mahler) Lands The Beginners Chase At Limerick

Mahler Mare Impresses In Beginners Chase

Black-type hurdler Fairyhill Run (6m Mahler - Flite, by Flemensfirth) may achieve even greater success over fences, if Tuesday's dominant display at Limerick is anything to go by.

John Patrick Ryan’s charge was sent off favourite for the Beginners Chase and led from the early stages under Danny Mullins. Ridden from the penultimate fence, she was clear at the last and kept on well to win by nine and a half lengths.

“That is a really good mare,” her trainer later declared. “She was only beaten a nostril in a Listed hurdle here and was very unlucky not to win, but she is way better over fences.”

Ryan also revealed that Thomas Meagher’s homebred will now return to black-type company, hoping to add to her Listed and Grade 3 placings over hurdles.
