Mahler Mare Wins Dromohane Maiden In Style
The Jim Barry owned and trained Fantasia Storm (4m Mahler - Fantasia Filly, by Dadarissime) won the Four-Year-Old Mares Maiden at Dromohane in good style on Sunday.
Making most of the running under Roger Quinlan, the grey mare went clear before the last and ran on strongly to beat Akardashian (Sans Frontieres) by six lengths, with the same distance back to the third horse.
This was just the second start for Fantasia Storm, having unseated on debut last month. Bred by John Mernagh, she is a half-sister to Howling Milan (Milan), an impressive winner over hurdles in January. Their dam, a three-time winner herself, is a half-sister to Grade 1 winning chaser Tresor De Mai.
