Mahler Mare Wins Maiden Unchallenged

Sunday saw the Sean Doyle-trained Similar Story (5m Mahler - Bell Walks Eve, by Flemensfirth) win her maiden in impressive fashion at Grennan point-to-point.

Runner-up on her second start in March, the daughter of Mahler was sent off joint-favourite to make it third time lucky and was ridden to chase the leaders by Jack Hendrick. Improving to lead at the third last, she boasted a clear advantage by the next and was never challenged as she eased clear to win by 12 lengths.

A trip to the sales is now on the agenda for Similar Story, who runs in the colours of Gearoid Doyle. The Mahler mare was bred by Robert O’Callaghan out of a full-sister to Time For Rupert (Flemensfirth).
