Mahler Mission Makes Trip Worthwhile In Listed Hurdle
Mahler Mission (6g Mahler - Finnow Turkle, by Turtle Island) recorded his second black-type success in the Listed Novices’ Hurdle at Perth on Wednesday afternoon.
John McConnell’s raider made all under Tom Scudamore and was shaken up from two out. Keeping on strongly, he scored by two and a quarter lengths, with runners-up honours going to Complete Unknown (Dylan Thomas), himself a Grade 3 winner last time out.
Mahler Mission has reaped the rewards on trips to the UK this season, having won his maiden hurdle impressively at Sedgefield before capturing a Grade 2 contest at Doncaster.
The son of Mahler is owned by Colm Herron and the Rockview Racing Syndicate, having been purchased privately following his debut second for Cormac Doyle. He was bred by Ivor Dulohery out of Finnow Turkle, herself an unraced sister to three black-type performers by Oscar.
