Mahler’s Latest Winner Shows Plenty Of Promise
Fringill Dike (4g Mahler - Credo Star, by Presenting) made a perfect start to his career when justifying strong market support in Monday’s bumper at Hexham.
Sent off co-favourite for the two mile contest, the Jedd O’Keeffe-trained newcomer was positioned behind the leaders by Jack Garritty. Pushed along to make headway approaching three furlongs out, the chesnut showed signs of inexperience as he produced his challenge, but kept on well to win by two and a half lengths, going away.
There should be more to come from Fringill Dike, who runs in the colours of Caron and Paul Chapman. Bred by Cathal Ennis, he provides an important update for his three-year-old half-brother by Walk In The Park, who sold for €37,000 as a foal to Redpender Stud.
