Maxios Mare Records Back To Back Stakes Wins
The Waldemar Hickst-trained Liberty London (5m Maxios - Ledicea, by Medicean) secured back-to back Stakes wins in Sunday’s Group 3 Grosser Preis der Wirtschaft at Dortmund.
Successful at Listed level over course and distance last month, the Gestut Ittlingen homebred chased the clear leader under Andrasch Starke for much of the way. Narrowing the gap approaching the turn for home, she improved to lead from two furlongs out and ran on well to win by two and three quarter lengths. Recent Listed winner Sahib’s Joy claimed runners-up honours, while other beaten rivals included German 2,000 Guineas victor Mythico.
The daughter of Maxios gained her first Stakes win over a mile and a half last July and appeared better than ever on her seasonal return when racing three and a half lengths clear of multiple Stakes winner Potemkin.
