Newcomer Leads Home Bumper 1-2-3 For Coolmore NH Sires

Promising newcomer Lady Jane P (4f Walk In The Park - Rosee Des Bieffes, by Sassanian) led home a 1-2-3 for Grange Stud sires in Saturday’s bumper at Newton Abbot.

Held up towards the back of the field by Paddy Brennan, Fergal O’Brien’s charge was travelling well turning for home and made good headway when asked over two furlongs from home. Leading entering the final furlong, she held off a late challenge by fellow newcomer Light N Strike (Leading Light) to win by three parts of a length, as Canastero (Getaway) ran on to take third.

Owned by Laetitia Pienaar, Lady Jane P was bred by Rebecca Kemp and becomes the first winner out of Rosee Des Bieffes. She is by exciting sire Walk In The Park, whose first Irish three-year-olds were well received at this year’s store sales, while runner-up Light N Strike hails from the first crop of fellow Grange Stud resident Leading Light.
