Progressive Son Of Getaway Goes One Better In Novice Hurdle
Ree Okka (5g Getaway - Presenteea, by Presenting) built on a promising rules debut to justify favouritism in Saturday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Chepstow.
The Harry Fry-trained bay finished second in a maiden hurdle at Aintree in October, and had since enjoyed numerous form boosts, including when the winner went on to finish second in a Grade 2.
Ridden by Sean Bowen at the weekend, he raced prominently throughout and asserted after the final flight. Keeping on well under pressure, he scored by two lengths on the line.
Ree Okka is owned by the Jago Family Partnership since being purchased privately after winning his second start between the flags for Stuart Crawford.
A €60,000 store purchase, the son of Getaway was bred by Distillery Stud.
