Progressive Son Of Maxios Draws Clear In Novice Hurdle

Rock Legend (5g Maxios - Moraine, by Rainbow Quest) produced an impressive performance on return to win Saturday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Newcastle by seven lengths.

Placed on both his previous starts over hurdles, the Dan Skelton-trained bay was sent off favourite for the two mile contest under Jack Andrews. Held up behind the leaders, he improved into second approaching the third last and led before the penultimate flight. He soon went clear and won with ease.

A €40,000 foal buy, Rock Legend was bred by Tinnakill Bloodstock.
