Touch The Sound (Churchill) Wins Dundalk Maiden

Promising Churchill Filly Gains Maiden Victory

Touch The Sound (3f Churchill – Solstice, by Dubawi) built on previous promise to get off the mark in the mile fillies’ maiden at Dundalk on Friday evening.

The Fozzy Stack-trained filly shaped like a smart prospect when finishing second in a Leopardstown maiden, the winner subsequently gaining black-type, while the third won since. Partnered by regular rider Joey Sheridan on Friday, she led after two furlongs and ran on well when ridden from two furlongs out. The winning margin was a length.

“She had a good run on her second run in Leopardstown,” the winning rider commented. “I felt like I went good, even fractions. She lengthened the whole way to the line and took a bit of pulling up.”

The daughter of Churchill is owned by John Patrick Byrne and was bred by Lynn Lodge Stud.
