Promising Mares Complete Double For Getaway
Marshella (3f Getaway - Assistance, by Dansili) completed the first leg of a double for her sire on Tuesday when making a winning debut in the fillies’ hurdle at Fakenham.
Oliver Signy’s newcomer raced prominently throughout the two mile contest and led from the second last under Harrison Beswick. Soon clear, she produced a fine leap at the last and kept on strongly to win by a length and a half, with another six and a half lengths back to the third.
Owned by Bart and Warwick Ryan-Beswick, Marshella was bred by MMO Bloodstock and Drumlin Bloodstock out of Assistance, who has a yearling filly by Vadamos.
Later at Lingfield, Endless Escape (6m Getaway - Endless Wave, by Poliglote) drew clear in the novices’ hurdle on her first start for Ben Clarke.
Previously placed in a point-to-point for Donnchadh Doyle, the daughter of Getaway was the sole mare to take on the geldings in Tuesday’s two mile contest. Ridden prominently by Ben Jones, she led approaching the second last and boasted a clear advantage by the final flight. Keeping on well on the run-in, she scored by seven lengths on the line.
Endless Escape is owned by Mike Tootell and was bred by Maurice Smiddy.
