Promising Son Of Getaway Delivers In Maiden Hurdle
Equus Dreamer (6g Getaway - Thornleigh Blossom, by Presenting) continued a fine run for the Kim Bailey stable when making a successful step up in trip in Wednesday’s maiden hurdle at Hereford.
Placed on all his three starts between the flags for Willie Bryan, the son of Getaway made a promising start under rules when finishing third in a novice hurdle over two miles and three furlongs in December. Stepping up to three miles and two furlongs on Wednesday, he raced prominently under David Bass and was pushed along from the second last. Ridden on the run-in, he ran on well to deny the favourite by a length and a quarter, as the pair drew well clear of the field.
Owned by Mrs P Woodhall with Mr and Mrs M Laws, Equus Dreamer becomes the first winner bred by Gerald McPolin out of Thornleigh Blossom.
