Promising Son Of Getaway Scores On Second Attempt

The Andrew Latta-trained Captain Checkdown (5g Getaway - Come On Rosie, by Presenting) built on a promising debut to get off the mark at Ballinaboola on Sunday.

Fourth in a Boulta maiden in December, he was sent off favourite for the five-year-old maiden under Jack Hendrick. Making most of the running, he was challenged at the final fence and battled back to dead heat on the line, with ten lengths back to their nearest rival.

The son of Getaway was bred by William Neville and hails from the family of Clarcam.
