Handstands (Getaway) Wins On Debut At Moira

Smart Four-Year-Old Winner By Getaway

Well-regarded newcomer Handstands (4g Getaway - Wattle Bridge, by King’s Theatre) led home a 1-2 for sire Getaway in Saturday’s four-year-old maiden at Moira.

Pat Turley’s representative was sent off favourite under Declan Lavery and raced prominently throughout, quickening to assert before the final fence. Keeping on well on the run-in, he led by three lengths on the line, while Hurlershill (Getaway) finished eight and a half lengths clear of the third.

Owned by Mary Turley, Handstands will now be offered for sale. The son of Getaway was bred by Brendan and Mary Fitzpatrick, who sold him through Ballintry Stud as a foal for €75,000.
