Smart Pair Complete Double For Walk In The Park
Firefox (5g Walk In The Park - Cuteasafox, by Vinnie Roe) continued a terrific Easter Festival for Walk In The Park when justifying favouritism in Monday’s bumper.
Gordon Elliott’s charge ran out an impressive ten length winner last time out and was sent off favourite to follow up at Fairyhouse under Jamie Codd. Racing prominently throughout, he was asked to quicken after the two furlong pole and was ridden to challenge a furlong from home. Soon in front, he kept on strongly to score by three parts of a length, with the front pair finishing 25 lengths clear of the field.
Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “He's a lovely horse. It's all about the future with these young horses.”
Bred by Grange Stud, Firefox was bought by owners Bective Stud for €280,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale.
Meanwhile, over at Compiegne, All Right Now (4g Walk In The Park - Prosopopee, by Verglas) shaped like a smart type when making a winning debut in the four-year-old hurdle for Hector de Lageneste and Guillaume Macaire.
Racing in touch with the leaders, he quickened turning for home and was pushed along to lead approaching the final flight. Ridden out on the run-in, he won by two lengths under Kilian Dubourg.
Owned and bred by Gerard Piquemal, All Right Now is a full-brother to 11-time winner Born To Be A Queen (Walk In The Park).
