Smart Son Of Mahler Draws Clear In Beginners Chase

Talented hurdler Journey With Me (6g Mahler - Kilbarry Demon, by Bob’s Return) ran out a commanding winner of Tuesday’s Beginners Chase at Naas.

Purchased privately after impressing in a four-year-old maiden for Michael Murphy, the son of Mahler won a bumper in similar style on his first start for Henry de Bromhead and went on to win his first two starts over hurdles. Partnered by regular rider Rachael Blackmore at Naas, he raced prominently throughout the two and a half mile contest and asserted from two out. Pushed along to extend his advantage approaching the final fence, he was ridden out on the run-in to score by 13 lengths.
