Smart Sunday Double For Getaway
The Donnchadh Doyle-trained Simple Getaway (4g Getaway - Simple Sums, by Flemensfirth) ran out a commanding winner of Sunday’s four-year-old maiden at Lingstown.
Racing prominently throughout, the Monbeg representative produced a fine round of jumping under Rob James and looked the likely winner from some way out. The winning margin was a comfortable eight lengths.
Bred by Andrew Pierce, the €52,000 store purchase is the first foal out of Simple Sums (Flemensfirth).
Meanwhile, over at Moig South, Getoverthathill (5g Getaway - Vale Of Avocia, by Taipan) made a smart return to action in the five-year-old geldings maiden.
Hailing from the in-form Maike Magnussen stable, the son of Getaway chased a strong pace under Chris O’Donovan. Produced to lead at the third last, the Noel Casey-owned bay stayed on strongly to win by 12 lengths from a strung-out field.
The progressive son of Getaway was bred by Tim and Sean Hegarty.
