Son Of Getaway Delivers On Chase Debut

Ultimate Getaway (8g Getaway - Ultimate Echo, by Gamut) kept on strongly to make a winning return to action in Sunday’s Novices’ Chase at Ludlow.

A four-time winner of bumpers and over hurdles, the Fergal O’Brien-trained bay stepped up to three miles on his chase debut and first start since October. He was travelling best of the field with four fences left to jump and improved into second at the penultimate fence, running on strongly to lead 110 yards from home. The winning margin was a length and a quarter, with another nine lengths back to the third.

Owned by Foxtrot Racing, Ultimate Getaway was bred by William Delaney. His four-year-old half-brother Amarillobymorning (Soldier Of Fortune) finished a promising third on debut last month for Colin Bowe.
