Son Of Getaway Doubles Up On Return

Jetaway Joey (6g Getaway - Present Your Own, by Presenting) made a successful start to the season when carrying a penalty to victory in Friday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Uttoxeter.

Last seen winning his maiden hurdle at Perth in April, the Olly Murphy-trained bay was ridden to track the leaders by Aidan Coleman and led after the third last. Pushed along, he beat the favourite by two and a quarter lengths comfortably.

Owned by Mrs Barbara Hester, Jetaway Joey gained his first career win in a bumper last year. The son of Getaway was bred by Dan Mangan and is a full-brother to fellow three-time winner Getaway John (Getaway).
