Son Of Getaway Draws Clear In Maiden Hurdle

Stony Man (6g Getaway - Answer My Question, by Cloudings) took a significant step forward on return to run out a clear winner of Tuesday’s maiden hurdle at Bangor.

The Gary Hanmer-trained bay was sent off favourite under Sean Bowen and raced in touch for much of the way, before being pushed to lead from the second last. Ridden clear, he won by 14 lengths in comfortable fashion.

Stony Man previously placed in two bumpers for Lockdown Racing, who purchased the son of Getaway following a fine third at Dromahane for Aidan Fitzgerald. He becomes the first winner bred by Mrs Margaret Lucey out of Answer My Question.
