Son Of Getaway Extends Unbeaten Record With Ease
Sunday saw the Donald McCain-trained Bareback Jack (5g Getaway - Dubh Go Leir, by Definite Article) extend his unbeaten record to three when running out an easy winner of the Novices’ Hurdle at Catterick.
Bought by McCain after impressing on his sole start for Colin Bowe, the son of Getaway won a novice hurdle in November and was sent off the short-priced favourite to make it three from three. Tracking the leader under Brian Hughes, he led approaching four out and went clear from the second last, extending his advantage to nine lengths on the line with minimum fuss.
Owned by TG Leslie, Bareback Jack was bred by Raymond O’Driscoll out of a daughter of Grade 2 performer Aine Dubh.
