Son Of Getaway Follows Up In Novices Hurdle
Carcaci Castle (6g Getaway - Hakuna, by Saddlers’ Hall) made it two from two for Sandy Thomson in Thursday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Kelso.
The son of Getaway joined Thomson after running out an impressive winner of a bumper for Colin Bowe and made a winning return to action in a maiden hurdle over Thursday’s course and distance. Sent off second favourite under Ryan Mania, he raced prominently throughout and was full of running as they turned for home. Leading at the second last, he was shaken up soon after and was ridden out on the run-in to beat the favourite by two and a half lengths.
Bred by Don Commins, Carcaci Castle is owned by Mrs Q Thomson with Mr and Mrs M McPherson.
