Son Of Getaway Gains Deserved Hurdle Success

Wednesday saw the Olly Murphy-trained Jetaway Joey (6g Getaway - Present Your Own, by Presenting) return to winning ways in the maiden hurdle at Perth.

Successful in a bumper last February, the son of Getaway has since been placed on three of his four starts over hurdles. Dropping back to two and a half miles on Wednesday, the bay was asked to quicken turning for home and was pushed along to join the leader at the final flight. Ridden out on the run-in, he led close home and scored by three parts of a length under Aidan Coleman.

Owned by Mrs Barbara Hester, Jetaway Joey is an own-brother to three-time winner Getaway John (Getaway). The pair were bred by Dan Mangan out of Present Your Own, who has a yearling by Idaho.
