Son Of Getaway Gains Deserved Maiden Success
Beaufort West (6g Getaway - Blessingindisguise, by Luso) impressed when gaining a well-deserved success in Monday’s maiden hurdle at Chepstow.
The Colin Tizzard-trained bay was sent off favourite, having been highly-tried over hurdles last season, despite his maiden success eluding him. Robbie Power rode him to track the leader, taking over proceedings after two out and went clear with ease to win by eight and a half lengths.
Beaufort West was purchased privately after finishing second in a four-year-old maiden at Taylorstown for Colin Bowe, and is now owned by Taylor and O’Dwyer. The son of Grange Stud sire Getaway was bred by Anthony Keane Junior out of a half-sister to the top-class Bobs Worth.
