Son Of Getaway Gets Off The Mark Over Hurdles
Bumper winner Benign Dictator (6g Getaway - Canto Creek, by Beat All) added a maiden hurdle success to his record at Uttoxeter on Saturday.
Twice runner-up in similar contests, Olly Murphy’s charge was reunited with Fergus Gregory at the weekend and began to mount a challenge approaching three out. Pushed along to lead before the penultimate flight, he kept on strongly on the run-in to win by three lengths, with another seven lengths back to the third.
Owned by the Wayward Pilgrims, Benign Dictator is a full-brother to debut bumper winner Royal Creek (Getaway). The pair were bred by Ballyhampshire Stud out of a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Mwaleshi (Oscar).
