Son Of Getaway Gets Sloan Off To A Perfect Start
Gallyhill (4g Getaway - Tanit, by Xaar) provided Jamie Sloan with the perfect start to his training career when taking the Four-Year-Old Maiden at Kirkistown on Saturday.
Ridden patiently by Noel McParlan, the newcomer cruised closer and was travelling strongly approaching the turn for home. Disputing from two out, he soon led and quickened clear approaching the final fence, going on to win by two and a half lengths from Ballybegg (Mahler), who finished just a head in front of Western Limits (San Frontieres).
Leading home a 1-2 for owner William Dennison, Gallyhill was Sloan’s very first runner since taking over the reins from Ian Ferguson. The son of Getaway was bred by Sean Gorman and is a full-brother to fellow point-to-point winner Avoid De Master (Getaway), who sold for £75,000 earlier in the year.
