Son Of Getaway Makes It Two From Two Over Hurdles
The talented Getaround (5g Getaway - Playing Around, by Act One) made a successful seasonal return when justifying favoritism in Monday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Perth.
Having won a point-to-point and bumper, the Ella Pickard-trained grey made an impressive start to his hurdle career when winning a Novices’ Hurdle by 14 lengths in March. Dropping back in trip to two and a half miles on return, he made all under Bryan Carver and began to quicken from the third last. Racing clear from the second last, he was eased down close home to win by four lengths from €155,000 point-to-point purchase Southern Girl (Getaway).
Owned by Garry Wilson and bred by Bloomsbury Stud, the son of Grange Stud sire Getaway is a half-brother to dual Listed winner and Grade 2 runner-up Bigbadandbeautiful.
