Son Of Getaway Not For Catching In Bumper
The promising Arabian Diamond (5g Getaway - Fantastic Fleur, by Winged Love) proved a class above his rivals in Sunday’s bumper at Sligo.
Gordon Elliott’s charge had finished second on his two previous starts in bumpers and stepped up to two miles and two furlongs on his latest start. Racing prominently throughout under Harry Swan, he led with a circuit to go and began to draw clear from two furlongs out, going on to score by 19 lengths with ease.
Speaking after the race, Swan said, “He's probably not a typical bumper horse. I think he'll improve a lot more from that and he'll be a lovely horse over hurdles.”
Owned by Mrs Ann Marie McManus and bred by Kieran McManus, the son of Getaway is a full-brother to winning stablemate Banks Boy (Getaway).
