Son Of Getaway Proves A Class Apart In Beginners Chase
Friday saw Turbo (7g Getaway - Snug Bunch, by Bahhare) bounce back to form in the Tullamore Beginners Chase at Kilbeggan.
Returning from a six month break, the Jimmy Finn-trained bay was ridden to track the leader by Kevin Sexton and improved to lead from the seventh fence. Racing clear from the second last, he stayed on well to win by an easy 15 lengths.
Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “He was the highest-rated horse so I suppose he was entitled to do that.” On future plans, Finn said, “He’ll probably go to Galway. He’s rated 109 over hurdles so he could go for a handicap hurdle or maybe something like the Galway Blazers. He has a few options.”
Turbo is owned by Ms Amanda Finn, Richard Paterson and Matthew Fleming. The son of Getaway was bred by J Conlon out of bumper winner Snug Bunch.
