Son Of Getaway Scores On Debut For Pat Doyle

Getaway Pat (5g Getaway - Sunset Gold, by Supreme Leader) made a successful debut on Sunday, when winning the 17 runner Five-Year-Old Maiden at Dungarvan.

Ridden by John Barry, the Pat Doyle-trained chestnut was travelling well three from home, as he disputed the lead with a number of challengers, soon drawing away with just one rival on his heels. He jumped the final fence with more finesse than his nearest challenger and ran on strongly on the run-in to score by three lengths.

Bred by PJ O’Connor, Getaway Pat is out of a full-sister to the Listed performer Deep Sunset. His four-year-old full-brother is also in good hands, having been bought by Colin Bowe at last year’s May Store Sale at Tattersalls Ireland.
