Son Of Getaway Steps Up In Beginners Chase
A step up in trip brought out the best in Tiantu (6g Getaway - Boro Supreme, by Supreme Leader), as the Paul Power-trained and ridden gelding gained his maiden victory in Tuesday’s Beginners Chase at Tramore.
He had shown promise when finishing second on his first start for the yard and over fences in March and raced over two miles and six furlongs for the first time on Tuesday. Power positioned his charge behind the leaders and improved into second approaching three out and was pushed to lead from the last, before being ridden out to hold off Theatre Run by half a length on the line.
The son of Getaway was bred by Cyrus Buttimer and is a half-brother to Grade 1 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle runner-up Milsean (Milan), out of an unraced half-sister to Cork National victor Penny Hall.
