Son Of Mahler Completes Impressive Hat-Trick

Ajp Kingdom (6g Mahler - Mattys Joy, by Beneficial) completed an impressive hat-trick of wins in Thursday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Uttoxeter.

A bumper winner in the Autumn, the Fergal O’Brien-trained bay won a maiden hurdle in good style and went on to win by 16 lengths last month. Sent off favourite to follow up on Thursday, he made all of the running under Connor Brace and began to ease clear before the second last. Never challenged, he went on to win by 14 lengths.

Bred by John Palmer, the son of Mahler has won or finished second on all of his starts under rules. He joined the Fergal O’Brien team from David Harry Kelly, for whom he finished second on debut in a five-year-old maiden.
