Son Of Mahler Earns High Praise On Debut
Ballycoose (4g Mahler - Highly Presentable, by Presenting) shaped like a smart prospect when making a winning debut in Monday’s bumper at Down Royal.
The Stuart Crawford-trained chesnut was well-supported for the two mile contest and was ridden to chase the leaders by Declan Lavery. Making headway from over two furlongs out, the son of Mahler travelled well into the lead and kept on strongly to win by a length and a half.
Lavery gave a glowing account of the winner, saying, “He's a proper horse. I rode a few bits of work on him and he gives you a serious feel. He's still very green and raw but he's a good horse going forward I'd say. He'll improve a fair bit from that.”
