Son Of Mahler Goes One Better At Loughanmore

The Neil McKnight-trained McGarry (5g Mahler - Little Pearl, by Bigstone) built on a promising debut to take Saturday’s Five-Year-Old Maiden at Loughanmore.

Chasing the leaders under JC Barry, he overcame being hampered by a loose horse to produce a challenge after the second last and led 100 yards from the line. The winning margin was two and a half lengths, with all of 16 lengths back to the third.

Second on his first start in April, McGarry runs in the colours of Christine McKnight. Bred by Miss Jennifer Mahon, he is a full-brother to hurdle winner Monstrosity and point-to-point winner Lethegoodtimesroll.
