O'Toole (Mahler) Wins The Bumper At Fairyhouse

Son Of Mahler Impresses In Fairyhouse Bumper

Saturday’s bumper at Fairyhouse unveiled an exciting prospect as newcomer O’Toole (5g Mahler - On Galley Head, by Zaffaran) ran out an easy 15 length winner under Jordan Gainford.

Three point-to-point winners headed the market for the two mile contest, which saw the eventual winner track the leader for much of the way. Pushed along on the turn for home, the Stuart Crawford owned and trained bay produced a challenge two furlongs from home and went clear approaching the final furlong. Running on strongly, he left his rivals to battle it out for placings.

Speaking after the race, Crawford said, “We thought he was a nice horse and should have been going point-to-pointing, that was the plan. He's a very good jumper, but he was ready to run and we had to get him out somewhere.”

The son of Mahler was bred by Liam Lane out a winning half-sister to Graded performer Dare Me.
