Son Of Mahler Makes Easy Work Of Hurdle Debut
Twominutes Turkish (5g Mahler - Kilbarry Cliché, by Classic Cliché) made an impressive start to his hurdle career when pulling clear to win Wednesday’s maiden hurdle at Fakenham.
Fifth in a bumper last season, the Chris Gordon-trained chesnut was well-supported in the market on his first start over hurdles and was ridden to make all by Josh Moore. Five lengths clear approaching two out, he extended his advantage thereafter and won by 15 lengths with ease, the field strung out behind him.
Twominutes Turkish was bred to excel over obstacles, given that his dam is a half-sister to Grade 1 SunAlliance Hurdle victor and dual Grade 2 winning chaser Racing Demon, as well as the dam of Abolitionist and Askanna. The son of Mahler was bred by Con O’Keeffe of Kilbarry Lodge Stud.
