Son Of Mahler Makes It Look Easy On Rules Debut
Ajp Kingdom (5g Mahler - Mattys Joy, by Beneficial) made all to make a successful start for the Fergal O’Brien stable in Wednesday’s bumper at Bangor.
The son of Mahler previously showed promise between the flags for David Harry Kelly, for whom he finished second in a five-year-old maiden on debut. Partnered by Conor Brace on his first start under rules, the bay was pushed along from two furlongs out and stayed on well to score by a length.
Speaking after the race, assistant trainer Sally Randell said, “Ajp Kingdom is a lovely horse. This was the plan and we got him in early and he's used his fitness there. He showed his ability and will go hurdling next.”
Ajp Kingdom was bred by John Palmer and is a half-brother to useful chaser Padraig’s Joy.
