Son Of Mahler Makes It Third Time Lucky Over Fences
Tuesday saw Three Is Company (5g Mahler - Hold A Moonbeam, by Bach) get off the mark over fences when running out an authoritative winner of the Beginners Chase at Tramore.
Placed on his chase debut in October, the Gordon Elliott-trained bay seemed to appreciate the heavy ground on his latest start. Jack Kennedy rode him to make the running from the tenth fence and was left clear from the second last, from which he stayed on well to win by seven and a half lengths.
Owned by Vincent and Maneerat Caldwell, Three Is Company was bred by Padraig Power out of a half-sister to black-type hurdler Little Boy Boru.
