Son Of Mahler Not For Catching In Maiden Hurdle
The Fergal O’Brien-trained Ajp Kingdom (6g Mahler - Mattys Joy, by Beneficial) made all to justify favouritism in Monday’s maiden hurdle at Kempton.
Placed between the flags for David Harry Kelly, the son of Mahler won a bumper on rules debut and went on to finish second on his first two starts over hurdles. Partnered by regular rider Connor Brace on Monday, the bay was ridden approaching the final flight and kept on well to score by three lengths. Much Too Dear (Getaway) completed a 1-2 for Coolmore NH sires.
Ajp Kingdom was bred by John Palmer and is owned by the FOB Racing Partnership.
