Son Of Mahler Passes Stamina Test With Flying Colours
Potters Party (6g Mahler - Rosies Rocket, by Definite Article) relished a step up in trip when running out a clear winner of Tuesday’s Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse.
Henry de Bromhead’s charge finished fourth in a Novices Chase last month and made a significant step up to three miles on his latest start. Racing in touch under Darragh O’Keeffe, he made headway from the fourth last and improved into second after the next fence. Leading at the second last, he was soon clear and stayed on well on the run-in to score by seven and a half lengths.
Speaking after the race, stable representative Power said, “He's been crying out for a test of stamina and hopefully he can build on that now. They looked to go a real good gallop in the ground conditions and it suited our lad as stamina is his forte.”
Potters Party joined de Bromhead following his debut second in a point-to-point maiden for Michael Mangan. The son of Beeches Stud sire Mahler was bred by Mrs Claire Keegan.
