Holerday Ridge (6g Mahler - Deep Lilly, by Glacial Storm) produced a smart performance to get off the mark on his second attempt in Friday’s bumper at Newton Abbot.

Racing over two miles and one furlong, the Claire Hitch owned and trained bay raced towards the back of the field and began to make good headway from six furlongs out. Soon chasing the leader, he led on the turn for home and was ridden out to win by two and a half lengths under Ben Godfrey.

The promising son of Mahler was bred by Lisa Pyne and comes from the family of Menorah and Nearly Nama’d.
