Son Of Maxios Races Clear In Novice Hurdle
Gordon Elliott’s promising French recruit Aramax (4g Maxios - Aramina, by In The Wings) ran out a clear-cut winner of Saturday’s Novice Hurdle at Naas.
Bought by JP McManus after gaining his first win over hurdles for Guillaume Macaire, the son of Maxios had clearly impressed at home and made his stable debut in a Grade 2 in December. He raced in second for much of Saturday’s two mile contest, with Mark Walsh pushing him along to lead from the second last and stayed on well on the run-in to win by eight lengths.
Bred by Gestut Rottgen, Aramax is closely related to Aramon, a Grade 1 winner over hurdles. He continues a promising start by the progeny of Maxios in the national hunt sphere. The son of Monsun commands €6,000 at Castlehyde Stud this season.
