Son Of Maxios Rallies To Continue Fine Season

The consistent Jacamar (5g Maxios - Juvena, by Platini) dug deep in the closing stages to land Saturday’s Class 2 feature at Wincanton.

Successful in another class 2 hurdle in October, the Milton Harris-trained bay finished fourth on his next starts and made a slight step up in trip to two miles and five and half furlongs at the weekend. Mitchell Bastyan held him up towards the back of the field, making good headway from three out and joined Southfield Harvest at the second last. Ridden out, the pair drew clear of their rivals, with Jacamar prevailing by a neck on the line.

Jacamar was bred by Jurgen Imm and hails from the first crop of Maxios, who joined the Castlehyde Stud roster in 2020.
