Son Of Maxios Remains Unbeaten Over Hurdles

Wild Max (4g Maxios - Wildfahrte, by Mark Of Esteem) made it two from two over hurdles when justifying favoritism at Taunton on Thursday.

A winner on the flat in Germany, the bay made a winning debut for the Paul Nicholls stable last month over course and distance. He led from the third flight under Harry Cobden and it was plain sailing from there, as he ran on well from the last to win by three and a half lengths.

A step up in class may now be on the cards for Wild Max, who was bred by Gestut Brummerhof and is a half-brother to dual Listed winner Wildpark. His sire Maxios joins the Castlehyde Stud roster for the 2020 season, following a promising start by his first national hunt runners.
