Son Of Walk In The Park Draws Clear To Remain Unbeaten
Ernest Gray (5g Walk In The Park - Emily Grey, by Flemensfirth) ran out an impressive winner of Sunday’s bumper at Warwick to extend his unbeaten record to two from two.
The well-bred son of Walk In The Park made a winning debut for Colin Bowe at Punchestown last March and was subsequently sold to Highflyer Bloodstock for £105,000.
He carried a penalty as he dropped back to two miles on his first start for Alan King and was positioned in midfield by Gavin Sheehan. Improving on the turn for home, he led after the two furlong marker and showed signs of inexperience when shaken up a furlong later. He soon powered clear to win by 13 lengths.
Owned by Andy Peake, Ernest Gray was bred by Suroben Ltd and is the first foal out of four-time black-type winner Emily Gray (Flemensfirth).
