Parisencore (6g Walk In The Park - Folk Dancing, by Kingsalsa) outclassed his rivals to gain a deserved success in Wednesday’s maiden hurdle at Haydock.

Runner-up on all his previous starts over hurdles, the Nicky Richards-trained bay was sent off an even-money favourite under Danny McMenamin. Tracking the leaders for much of the way, he asserted with ease at the second last and soon went clear to score by ten lengths.

Owned by Mrs IC Sellars with Major and Mrs P Arkwright, Parisencore had first shown promise when finishing second in a bumper last season. The son of Walk In The Park was bred by Haras De Peyre.
