Son Of Walk In The Park Leads Them Home In Bumper
Impressive point-to-point winner Demandrivingdouvan (5g Walk In The Park - Bollin Jasmine, by Silver Patriarch) led home a 1-2-3 for Coolmore NH sires in Thursday’s bumper at Thurles.
An 11-length winner on his sole start for Mary Doyle, the son of Walk In The Park was subsequently recruited by Gordon Elliott and Buttonwood Farm, for whom he finished second on rules debut at Punchestown in May. Sent off favourite to go one better on his seasonal return, he raced prominently throughout under Jamie Codd and began to draw clear from two furlongs out. Ridden out inside the final furlong, he scored by two and a half lengths from Spitalfield (Mahler), while Ik’s Man (Walk In The Park) took third.
Elliott later confirmed that Demandrivingdouvan would now switch to hurdles. He provides an important update for his Vadamos half-sister selling at Tattersalls Ireland next week.
