Son Of Walk In The Park Maintains Perfect Chase Record

Minella Plus (5g Walk In The Park - Violin Davis, by Turgeon) made it two from two over fences in with a decisive victory at Ludlow on Thursday.

A three-time winner over hurdles, Donald McCain’s charge impressed with an eight length win on chase debut last month, but faced four-time chase winner Mortlach (Yeats) at Ludlow. Chasing the aforementioned favourite under Theo Gillard, he led from four out and was asked to quicken approaching the second last. Pushed out on the run-in, he scored by four lengths, while Mortlach (Yeats) finished a distance clear of the third.

Minella Plus is owned by Miss C McCracken and was bred by Kieran Cotter out of Violin Davis, whose Order Of St George colt foal sells at Tattersalls Ireland next month.
